In French

In the Gabes Gulf on the Barbary Coast, Captain Hennique discovered a forgotten fleet in 1882 that was unknown to him. Fascinated by this discovery, he immediately took notes on this myriad of small ships that had suddenly loomed up from the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea.
His description seems to come straight from the Odyssey and the memoirs of Arab historians.
The author incorporated all his observations on building, sailing and the use of Greek, Maltese, Italian, Tunisian fishing ships and coasters into a very dense text. Furthermore, thanks to his talent as a drawer and a painter in watercolors, he gave a faithful reproduction of this maritime life in 63 little plates (10 in color).

This exacting reprint represents an original book that has been almost completely ignored until now.
